Who

I am Jaco Marais. I live on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, where I write, build software, and spend my days circling one question: how we return to right relationship with God, with ourselves, with one another, and with creation.

The work

The work began long before I knew what it was. Years of writing, some of it published, most of it not, kept returning to the same ground: something in us was fractured, the fracture runs in every direction, and the way back is not a technique but a relationship. The books explore that return at length. The reflections walk it in shorter steps. The conversations speak it aloud.
