Cover of Kingdom Living

Step into the Kingdom life you were created for.

The world feels fractured—marriages strained, communities divided, faith diluted. Yet God’s redemptive plan has never faltered. From Eden to the Cross, from Hosea to Pentecost, Scripture reveals one unshakable truth: the Kingdom of God is here, now, and it is breaking into our lives with power, grace, and purpose.

In Kingdom Living: An Invitation to Prophetic Life, Jaco Marais invites you on a transformative journey through four interconnected works—Christ Our King, Kingdom Living, Faithful Love, and Prophetic Initiation. Together they form a tapestry that reclaims our true identity as citizens of God’s Kingdom.

Rooted in Scripture, yet written with clarity and warmth, this book is not a dry theology but a living invitation. Each chapter blends biblical narrative, practical wisdom, and spiritual practices to help you:

Whether read alone in devotion, studied in small groups, or meditated on in prayer, Kingdom Living is a guide for all who long to live in alignment with God’s eternal design.

You are invited. The Spirit still whispers: “Come.” The Garden is being restored, the Bride made ready, and the Kingdom is advancing. Will you take your place in God’s unfolding story?

Excerpts

Book 1 — Christ Our King

Here lies one of Satan’s greatest deceptions: in all the confusion, we became distracted, and the message was terribly diluted. We have told people about Christ, and, at times in history, some have grievously sinned by using coercion and violence in His name—things our LORD does not command. We should certainly proclaim the glory of the Kingdom, but even more importantly, we must live as citizens of the Kingdom—serving as both example and inspiration to others. Our lives should reflect the firstfruits of the Kingdom. After two millennia, humanity is still far from living this out. If even one-third of those who claim to be Christians truly lived in repentance and faith—walking in love, contentment, justice, and mercy—our world would already be profoundly transformed.

Book 2 — Kingdom Living, Chapter 1: The Garden and the Gate

Imagine a walled garden in the cool of morning. Dew hangs on every leaf. Two people walk under a canopy of trees, talking openly, unguarded. Nothing in them recoils from the other; nothing in them hides from God. This is not merely a legend of childhood innocence. It is a memory that the human race cannot shake—a deep knowing that we were created for presence without fear and work without futility.

Book 3 — Faithful Love in a Broken World, Prologue

In every age, marriages are under attack. But God has not left us without a plan. His blueprint, when embraced, restores not only marriages but families, communities, nations, and ultimately the world. Flowing from the events in Eden, every relationship carries a latent self-destruct mechanism that can turn a loving couple into secret opponents or even full-blown nemeses. It has been embedded in our psyche from the beginning. Satan, in a brilliant stroke from his perspective, not only caused separation between humanity and God but he also planted a festering wound in Adam and Eve when he lured them into betraying each other too. The seed he planted has been part of every relationship since.

Book 4 — Prophetic Initiation, Preface

This book was forged in fire, not ease. Like Job, I have tasted the bitter stripping of loss, the ache of isolation, and the soul’s cry for meaning that seemed to pierce the heavens. In wrestling with the God of my childhood, I found Him anew—not as a distant figure, but as the Living God: Creator, Father, Son, and Spirit, who speaks today. In that struggle, the Spirit unveiled Scripture’s living pattern—threads weaving from Job’s agony to Christ’s surrender, from Israel’s prophets to the Church today. What I saw brought peace: my personal trials were not isolated but a reflection of humanity’s collective journey. We are all being drawn into a prophetic initiation—a sacred rhythm of stripping, wrestling, encounter, and awakening to our identity as God’s children.
